What's a Warning Level?
The warning level is that nasty bar above a user’s name when they have broken a rule of ToS. This can come in the form of 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%
Why did I get a warning?
You received a warning because you broke one, or more of our ToS / Rules. For first offenses, we typically send you a PM reminder to look at the ToS and abide. However, if you have received a warning, you have broken a rule severely, or did not change an action after having been informed of misconduct.
Here are some examples of misconduct on our site. These include, but are not limited to:
• Sexual or explicit content in the forums, PMs, or in c box
• Ignoring or disrespecting a staff member
• Breaking a rule of ToS
• Spamming c box or other threads of the forum
• Bullying, flaming, or violating another member or staff
• Offensive or obscene language that is not meant for a PG-13 site
• There are many more possible reasons for getting a warning...
How do I know the exact reason for my warning?
Look at your own profile. The reason and date of the last warning you have received will be displayed at the bottom of your page, under “Account Notes”. There should also be a Custom Title that you will be able to view. If you cannot see the reason, for any reason, you may PM a Noble with any questions. Do not, under any circumstances, PM the Admin with questions about Warnings. If you need something addressed, that a Noble cannot, the Noble will take it up with the Admin on your behalf.
How do I bring my warning level down?
The only way is by not breaking any more rules and having an overall positive attitude in the forum. See below for further instructions.
When will my warning level decrease?
Warning levels decrease with time, with no specific amount set in stone. We decrease your warning level once a month, depending on actions you’ve taken since the time of receiving your warning. Should you follow the rules and abide peacefully by them, your warning level will decrease and vanish over time. Should you continue to break rules and be disrespectful to staff, the warning level will increase and put you at risk for banning.
If you want specifics on what you can do to lower your warning level, please PM a Noble to ask for any advice for individual cases.
By how much will my warning be decreased each month?
That all depends on the reason why you got your warning(s) in the first place and how high your warning level currently is. If you are at a 50% warning level or above, you’re at a higher risk for having a longer warning level bar. For 25% warnings, the warnings are verbal. 50% warnings, you will receive a 48 hour ban, depending on the situation. 75% warning level gives you a one week ban, depending on the severity of the situation, and 100% will give you a perma ban, with no exceptions.
Why do you give warnings this way, instead of just telling members they did something wrong?
We used to simply notify members by PM. It didn't work. We had to waste our valuable time by repeating the same things over and over without much effect. A warning level gets members' attention quickly and efficiently. It's rare the same people make the same mistake twice after they've had a warning level.
Why should I care about my warning level?
It's like a red flag over your head, and everybody in the forum can see it... The more warnings you pile up, the less lenient we'll be when you break rules. Even though members can only view the reason for their last warning, moderators can view the entire history of all your past warnings. If your warning level reaches 100%, you will be banned from the forum permanently.
Some members may also forbid those with a warning level above a set number from being part of activities, roleplays, etc.
