Greetings! Salutations! Sup mon!
I am known as Hal. To most.
Around Gaia/Tentacl I am the Puddleink. ( Actually, on most things I am known as Puddleink. Go figure, huh? )
I'm currently sitting at lv 27 with a specialization in Media Arts/Animation at the Bachelor level. ( That's a BMFA.) Curious in anything and everything, I'm thinking of a huge change in life and considering doing some gaming programming...when I'm not flailing around pretending I'm some great and awesome creature of confused alignment and easily deniable sanity.
Also, I'm a pro at killing house plants. Except one. Can't kill a Christmas Cactus. But we'll see. Soon™.
Mostly, you can find me wandering around playing games in the middle of the night at my current employment to upkeep my yarn habit and fuel my wanderlust funds. It's a job. Nothing to it. Incredibly easy. Well, the playing games part. Its quite amusing to hear what people have to say when I can say I am allowed and encouraged to play games at night while at work. ( This is the part where you guess my job. Go on, guess! You get three tries. Maybe. I'm in a good mood, so first guess is a freebee.) I dabble a little bit in RP, but mostly in very small groups with a set story guideline and complex characters. Fiction based are my favorites, especially the ones where rocks can fall, and people will die. Love those. Makes for the best kind of stories. Well, anything with a good story will grab my attention and probably you won't be able to pull me away unless you dangle a shiny challenge in front of my space. ( IE: Maps. I love creating maps. Maps are fun. OOH! And worlds. Give me a world challenge and I'll spend months on it and return to you with an entire Parthenon + many different religious sects and governments. ...just don't ask for names. I couldn't come up with a name if my life depended on it. )
Games. I love games. I really do love a good game. Now, I'm not all too into the FPS or most of the stuff on the console market right now ( Including handhelds.) But a good MMO will keep me entertained for years. Proof: Still playing WoW. ( incidentally, if you ever want just someone to flail around with for kicks: halpal#1745. Horde and Alliance. Not too keen on rolling on new servers atm, or even realm transferring. Roots man. Rooots.) Also goof around on Steam somewhat, but not too heavily. Would love folks to play with and recomend good games. Something simple and fun. Puzzle games tend to be what I am drawn to. Also, nothing beats Solitaire. I've lost hours doing that simple card game.
I've kinda grown out of anime. Nothing really catches my attention much anymore, but I do dig the SciFi and good Kung-Fu/Chinese Period Epic every now and again. Anything with real, hard depth and emotions. Its one of those weakness things.
Been trying to get my hands into Tabletop, but just haven't had the time nor the will to really look to the community around where I live. Would love to connect with a few folks, maybe get something started along those lines. ( Exalted, and I think I have a basic Pathfinders manual online somewhere... Man, I need to clean my computer out.)
Books: ... Mine. No, seriously. Any book. I love books. I'll sit and read almost anything if you put it in front of me. I will consume it without biased, then happily tell you how horrible it was/could have been/wasn't.
I mentioned my degree, and yes. I do enjoy creating art for others. I currently do not have a price range for them, and I don't really work for free. I prefer to work for favors, or trades. Want a highly detailed map? Cool! Can I has a character art dones, yes? Currency tends to slip my mind a lot.
Oh, uh... Something about likes and dislikes, yes?
I can't spell.
Grammar occasionally happens in the worst possible way.
Common sense and coherence sentences that reflect the intelligence of the individual behind them more than the things they are actually saying are valued rather than general over all niceness. ( I've ran into a lot of individuals that are 'nice' and 'sweet', but turn out to be absolute *coughs*.... But the trolls and the 'jerks' tend to be the ones that I remain great friends with. )
One day, I will draw a comic. One day.
Enamored with the Edwardian/Victorian Steampunk movement, and consequence DieselPunk.
Zepplins are cool.
Gnomes are cool too and should be hugged, not punted.
Trolls are cool too. Just like Tauren and Draenei.
... And be kind to your tanks and healers.
Remember; If it isn't the Tank, or Healer's fault, it is usually the Hunter, even if he is two zones away and AFK.
