As he headed down the long stairs, he took a look through some open doors, only to see. Light rushed out of a door further down, and he could smell the scent of food, delicious food. It had been a long time since he had eaten, and first now he noticed how hungry he was. His stomach made a weird sound as he closed the kitchen, and Helix was about to look into the room when a person meet him there. Or, was it right to call him a person? He had a black left wing, and was far from human. So would you call him 'it'? And would you call it 'creature', not person? Helix sighed for himself, he was like that to, he reminded himself. "Mornin'" Helix just said bluntly, before looking over at the table. The food looked so good, even thought Helix could smell strawberries (A skill he had learned from living with Kayla for a long time) It was attempting to sit down with the strangers and eat, but he shook his head before taking a few steps down the staircase. "Maybe another time..." Helix continued, before once more walking down.

Helix couldn't sit there and eat a long breakfast with strangers when he had a person wanting to make his life miserable. Kayla had also gotten mixed up in all that, because of Helix, so how could he be enjoying something? Suddenly, he thought of the good sleep he had had, and that was rare. Helix' shadows hunted him, they gave him nightmares and sometimes horrifying hallucinations. But now, for the first time in ages, he had a good night's sleep. Helix sighed, before looking around, searching for an exit.

A deep laugh could be hear from the dark room. "This is great!" The voice called, deep and sinister. Some sort of hologram screen was in front of him. The display showing a map looking system with red dots beeping. "This is it" A smile appeared on his lips as he stood up from his throne looking chair and headed for the metal door in the other end of the room. The door opened, when the male was halfway and someone new entered. "Master, Azlex, something new?" The newly entered male asked. "Yes, indeed, we have discovered some weird activity in this arena" The sinister voice answered and pointed at the hologram. Notes of all sorts filled the outskirts of the map. As the younger male stared at the screen, his mouth hand half open. "This is..." The rather normal sounding voice said dazzled by what he saw. "Yes, these arena's are where a portal have been opened recently..." The older male said with a grin. "The gate to other universes..."
The darkness of the room suddenly seemed more threatening, and the darkness seemed devouring.

Kayla looked over at Damian, and then at Gio. "Well, stay as long as you want to... If I am correct, mom is going to be away most of the time due to work" She sighed before reaching for the TV console and turning the TV on. The first channel was the news channel. The reporter talked loudly about the new military that had been established in the country. She talked about it's future, it's greatness and it's one leader.  Kayla sighed and shook her head. "That organisation is going to mess everything up" She spoke, before pressing the big red button and making the screen go black. After a while, she looked over at Gio and Damian, suddenly remembering that they didn't come from here. "Oh, some new people is replacing the old military, saying that they will make everything better..." Kayla shrugged as she finished before laying down in the couch, staring at the roof.

Leo's tiny cat eyes slowly stretched open. He let out a small mewl of displeasure and he brought his paws up to his eyes and rubbed then, trying to wake himself. He sat up and his limited eye site allowing the room to look mostly black in his vision. He began to stretch his aching body and he shifted back into his neko form. He walked over to his closet and he began to search through the closet for something he could wear. It wasn't his house, but he should have some clothes stashed here. He found some black shorts and he slipped into them, his fuzzy tail poking out of the small hole in the back. Leo replaced the large t-shirt for a thin tank top. The weather was gonna be warm, but have a soft breeze. It only rained when the nature and water guardian agree for it to happen. He walked downstairs carefully, remembering the layout of the home in his mind as he descended. He eventually came across Helix, his scent filling his nose. He looked up at him, his eyes meeting Helix's. "There are some people you need to meet." he said and he led him towards the door. Leo felt his neck for a small necklace with three little opals on it, in the formation of a triangle. They wee fire opals, and it was a very soft rock, that could be broken easily. He pressed it against the blank wall of the tree and it began to fold out into a door way. "I had one made for you, we just have to go get it." he said and he began to walk across the soft grass. There were 10 other large trees like the one they were just in. A few of them had sections of the tree open to let air in, and some were even hanging out the window. On their way walking they stopped by Darren's tree. Leo pressed his necklace into the side and it opened. Two small kids went down the stairs. One was a girl with bright innocent blue eyes and soft black hair, and she ran over and jumped on Leo. "Leelee!~" He squealed into his ear. A boy, the same age as her, with blue hair and piercing blue eyes was behind her, silently leaning against the door frame. He was the more quiet of the bunch. Darren himself came running down stairs a few seconds after, a bow gracing his head and his piercing blue eyes looked down at his kids. The little girl, Reagan, held Darren's excitement and pure unadulterated emotion. She was a mini, even more excited version of him. She was generally more shy around strangers, but when she opened up she was very happy and kind. Balthazar, the male, on the other hand, is the more closed off one. Towards strangers his is polite, but cold, being to protective over his sister. He hates being told what to do, and he worked hard to keep he and his sister together. It was their greatest fear, them being separated. Darren had to leave them with Sazrow for a while to keep them safe while he went through his cycle and fight in the last war. So they had been with each other without their father for a while. After they were reunited he never left their side for anything. Their mother, Isabella had died years ago, not being an Eldrin like Darren. Like his kids, Darren wasn't good with separation, so he attempted to make all of the lost years up. His son was a bit.. colder, even when he was sassy and sarcastic. His daughter had gotten out of the curse, being only part Eldrin, but his son got it full force, and he had cycles when he turned 7. They were 10 now. Darren still had cycles, they started back after Bella had died, but he had a grace period before hand. His daughter had no idea about them, she just knew that once a year Balthazar and daddy got grumpy and sick then left for a little bit. But they were always taken care of, and they both always came back, so she accepted it. She was cute and innocent, and Darren planned to keep her that way until she was old enough to handle it. She was too emotionally venerable. Balthazar was too, but he was too good at hiding it and pushing it back. "You here for the key?" he asked. They called the small necklace a key because it was used to unlocked the houses. Leo nodded and set Reagan down. Darren walked over to a wall and he tapped it making a drawer pop out and he pulled a soft silver necklace from it, the same as Leo's. He handed it to him and Leo gave it to Helix. "Keep it with you, it will allow you access to everywhere you will need to go." He said. "But you wont need it forever." Darren finished, looking up at his brother. "Its gonna be interesting when he meets Dylan." he said, smirking lightly. Leo groaned. "I'm not sure if it will be good or bad." he said. "They will either love each other or loathe each other." The cat boy spoke. Dylan was the Igororii's younger half-sister, making her technically Helix's actual sister. She was the Shadow Guardian's daughter, like Helix. She had Eldrin blood, but she wasn't fully born from ashes. She was born from the shadows. She didn't have to suffer through cycles like her brothers did, but she still got slight pain when it should happen. She doesn't have a period, but she has a period... a yearly one. She was a bit of a bad ass, a sarcastic one at that. She loves drinking and smoking, and she never listens to people. She does her own thing, and she's really independent. She will probably either clash with Helix, or they will be at a silent understanding. They had a long and weird family history. Leo looked up at Darren and he smiled. "We have to go see him now." he told Darren, who nodded. "Mkay. Vermitlar Vrozcow." He said, looking at Helix. Balthazar was looking at Helix confused, because Darren called Helix brother but he wasn't Daniel. It was weird, but he didn't question it. Leo led him away from the forest and he brought him to a dark area, away from all of the bright. They were approaching the shadow village, so everything got darker and a bit more dreary. The people there weren't heartless, but they usually had a bit of ice, not trusting people off the bat. Leo was one of the people there that everyone was fine with. The kids were playing shadow ball, and the adults were doing adult things. They all were very clothes to their shadows. In the shadow village, your shadow became your most trusted friend and ally. They were conscious, and Helix's own shadow had a conscious, whether he knew it or not. As they walked people stopped and looked at Helix curiously, their shadows moving towards him, as if too sniff him for something and immediately backed off. They all looked at him dumbfounded by the sight of him. They eventually reached a bit clearing with a small platform in the middle. Daniel was already there, leaning against a tree, a cigarette placed between his teeth, and his soft angel like wings prodding gently from the slits in the back of his shirt. Seeing them, he walked over to the platform and tossed his cigarette, it dissolving into nothing. He nodded at Leo and Leo placed his hand on the little button on the platform. A large portal, with a bright white ring of fire around it appeared. It would lead them to the Guardians Realm, where they would speak to Jezebel and her husband, the Shadow Guardian, and Helix's father.

Helix had given up finding a door and sat down on something he could not quite name. He looked around in the entrance of the three, he was sure it was there. Leo's sudden appearance made Helix jump a little as he had not seen him coming. "Morning..." Helix mumbled halfhearted as he looked at Leo walking to the door and opening it by some weird necklace. "Can't you just have normal doors?" He asked slightly annoyed and sarcastic. In his world, it was so much easier. They had keys and they had door handles, and they had hi-tech security. But why a necklace? Couldn't it be a ring or anything else? 
Hesitatingly, Helix followed Leo out of the three and into the forest. "Who are we seeing?" He asked, looking around in the forest he found quite gloomy. Leo opened another three with his necklace, and a younger girl left the three shortly after and hug her arms around Leo. Helix felt like his heart twitched a little, but he had no explanation to it. He watched as one of the persons from the day before also exited the three. Helix had yet to get a formal introduction to all the people here. 
When Leo reached the necklace to Helix, he hesitated a little before he grabbed it and studied it for quite a while. "I'm not gonna wear this..." He murmured quietly for himself. After a while he shoved the necklace into his pocket, before watching Leo and the other guy talking. Once in a while he cast a glance at the two kids. "Who is Dylan?" Helix asked, looking at them quite confused. They couldn't just expect him to go and meet whomever they wanted him to meet. But he had no better to do so he did not argue. 
Once more they used that weird language, which Helix figured would be the language they spoke here. It sounded familiar in a weird way. Helix just nodded slightly as an answer before following Leo away from the three. He noticed without making a big deal out of it, the little boy's confused look. Was he that strange?  
As they arrived a more dark and sinister place, Helix felt more at home. It was as if this was where he belonged... A thought stuck Helix, making him a little dizzy. This had to be it... The place he was supposed to grow up. He was supposed to grow up here, playing the game that the kids played now. But why hadn't he? Why did he grow up in his world? Not that he could argue, he had met Kayla there, so he was fine. 
His eyes scanned the area before they entered the town. It made him feel so easy to be there.
As he entered the city he could quickly feel the stares of other shadow users, and he could see the shadows reaching their 'claws' after him. But his own shadows worked as a guard keeping crazy fans away from a celebrity (If Kayla had heard him using that equation, she would surely give him an applause).
Once they reached the more open place, Helix looked at the person standing there. Another person he had seen before, but did not know the name of. The smoke he had made Helix reach for his pocket, before he realized he'd left his jacket back in the master room in the three where he had slept. He sighed lightly, before noticing the portal that appeared. Helix looked around, not quite understanding the situations. Leo had not told him where they were going. But instead of asking, he slowly entered the portal following Leo. 

Helix held onto Leo the whole way, of experience from last time. It made Helix slightly dizzy to travel through portals, but it was most likely because he was not used to it, not that he wanted to get used to it. "Where is this?" Helix asked, looking around trying to figure out.  It was an odd place. It was like they had given every element it's own place and then sewed them together in a weird mix. Twelve thrones where placed in the center of the room, and there was currently three people in the room, besides Helix, Leo and the other. Helix remembered the lady from yesterday, and he believed another one of the three persons was was Leo's father from yesterday. The last person was a complete stranger, but he still seemed quite familiar to Helix. It was the same when he had meet the lady, his mother. Helix froze, realizing that the last person there maybe was... He couldn't even finish his own thought.
"What are we doing here?" Helix finally managed to ask after a while, turning to Leo. His face was more sinister, but he could not hide the slight trembling in his body. There was no doubt, that last person was his dad.

Leo answered all of his questions as he asked... vaguely anyway. After they met with Daniel and made their way to through the portal, they ended up in the throne room. Twelve large thrones stretched up towards the sky. Each one was different. Some dark. Some light. Some earthy. Some things... that weren't things. It was a strange room. Overhead all you could see was stars and the place was lit with torches. They liked things to be natural, and they don't really use a lot of technology that earth has. They were more medieval in their ways. Although there was a magnetic field that made electronics in their area useable, but they didn't really use internet, They didn't need it. But when they wanted to know something some of them didn't know then they would get one of those few with the knowledge to use to technology to look stuff up.

Behind each of the thrones was an arch that was similar to the throne, and behind those it was just a large field, and if you had the proper vision, you could see how the land beyond it morphed into something different. It was land adapted to the guardian's needs and wants. Jezebel and Felix stood in the throne room when they entered. Felix looked much like Daniel and Helix, but darker, and more sinister. His eyes had that same deep onyx black and they pierced through Helix like a blade. He knew they would also. His shadow crawled around them and it seemed to zero in on Helix, forcing the males shadow to go into hiding. He was powerful, and he tended to relish in that. Jezebel saw what her husband was doing and a coy smile entered her face as she placed a hand on his shoulder. "Felix, Nowd." She said and his eyes left Helix's and they softened as he met her eyes. "Ardev." He said and he grabbed her hand and rested a kiss on it. Well.. that's where Daniel got that from, he had a thing for kissing hands. Felix left his wife's gaze and it landed back on Helix. "Mmmm... You must loathe me." He spoke, his voice deep and calm, amusement slipping into his features. It showed in his smirk, a mixture between sinister and amused. "I don't blame you, I hated my father too." He mused and he walked towards him, his tall and dark figure towering a few inches even taller than Daniel. "In fact, I slipped a blade into my father and his shadow." He said and he walked close enough to smell his son's scent. He smelled... foreign. He didn't like it. His face curled up into a disgusted expression before it disguised itself again. "You smell... human." He said and his eyes narrowed and his shadow seemed to grow restless. His eyes filled with some strange emotion and Jezebel was behind him in a second and her fingers wrapped into his arm, the nails digging into his skin. "Felix." She said coldly, using the pain of her nails to bring him back from whatever he was thinking. He looked towards his wife then back at Helix before walking away from them and he went and sat on his throne. He hated the fact he smelled like human, is filled him with disgust... and fear. He hated thinking that his own blood got sent to a place with humans, and from what he has heard, humans who didn't like his kind of people. His son was sent away to be hidden from the them. The hunters looked of human decent, but they were far from it. They were creatures who were bred for killing Eldrin. And they had an infestation of them, which was why he was sent away to hide. He was too young to defend himself yet and not hurt anyone. At the time Daniel and his brothers were out on earth searing for the youngest. So all they had to worry about was Helix, and so his father ripped out part of his own shadow and gave it to Helix, making him his child. He was born from his wife's ashes, yes, but he held his father's shadow, making them blood. In a blood test his genes would show up, but they wouldn't be... normal.

Felix has a strange look in his eyes. Animalistic and... worried. He was very cold, but he wasn't heartless. He was a father after all. He looked over at Daniel who only shrugged. "I was never there." He said and he nudged Leo, who jumped lightly, not seeing it coming. Leo faced him and shot him a look before placing a hand on his hip. "The people were charming." He said with a sarcastic grin, his ear twitching, annoyed at the memory. Felix gave Leo a sickening look that would make anyone's skin crawl but Leo made no move that showed he was bothered. Daniel on the other hand was very bothered, and he looked at Leo like he was insane. Noticing the way Leo looked at his father he understood immediately why. He was slightly shocked at first by how Leo was able to hide it, but with him being over a million years old he didn't exactly have any room to doubt the cat creatures acting skills. Leo sighed and he rolled his annoyed eyes, done with the day. "Okay. You." He started, placing a hand on his hip and pointing towards Felix. "Quit being cranky." He Continued. "And you." He said, pointing to Helix. "Don't be all pouty that you didn't grow up here with you're biological family, because you did, at least for the first few years." He sassed at him, shutting him up before he could even reply. "You will listen to the entire story before even remotely bitching at them or getting all pouty." He ordered. "Got it. Okay. Good." He said, leaving him no room to argue. He walked over to his fathers throne and he sat on it, making himself comfortable. What? He didn't care, it was a room of chairs, might as well put it to good use. Jezebel, Felix, and Leo all sat in thrones beside each other. Jezebel was sitting fully up, fingers slowly flicking down on the wooden arm pieces. Felix was leaning back and to the side, one hand supporting his chin, and his left crossed and slightly to the side. Leo on the other hand laid down in his. It less of a throne and more of a pallet raised on a pedestal. It was fuzzy, with little puffy pillows and such. His species liked fluffy things, and his father was the king of fluffy. He had his fingers weaved together and placed under his chin while his legs swung lightly back and forth in the air. He was comfy, and he looked like he could rule the damn world with the way he was acting. Well... he basically did rule this world... with cuteness of course. "So.... Shall we start?" He said, giving Helix a cheeky smile. If the boy was smart he would figure out how Leo fit into everything. Leo was one of the oldest people here. He remembers watching Felix and Jezebel grow up. Leo was one powerful little boy, and everyone knew it, so when he acted like a child, nobody questioned him.

Confusion, was that the right word to explain the situation? His parents stood in front of him, and he had waited for that day for so long. So why was he unable to move? Unable to speak? All he could do was to stand there and watch the more sinister version of himself stand there and talk. Normally he would have told them what he felt, that he didn't care, that he was glad they sent him there. Glad they gave him the chance to meet Kayla, but why couldn't he open his mouth? Even when his father, Felix, mentioned loathing, he was unable to act. He felt stupid for looking so week and speechless. It was just his parents, who had abandoned him. All these years he had known what to say, but when he finally had the chance, the words wouldn't come out of his mouth. To not look like a complete, hypnotized idiot, he looked to the left slightly. Pretending not to care, before looking back up at his father. Helix' eyes widened up when Felix told him about the murder of his own father. On one side, Helix wanted to do the same, but he refused to sink that low. No, never. Of course, murdering persons was not unusual for him, but his own father? Not unless he had a better reason. And Felix was a guardian, so Helix would not be left alone even if he did kill his father. 

His fist tightened in an annoyed way when his own father commented how he smelled. Of course I smell human, I have been living with them forever. And whose fault is that? Helix wanted to say those words, but could not. His mouth wouldn't open at all.
As he gave a look to Daniel, Helix became as confused as he could be. They had said no words, yet they got an answer. Helix wondered what he answered on, but decided not to bother his mind with it to to much. 
When Leo spoke, Helix was, for some reason, paying a little more attention. He tilted his head slightly at the sassy Leo. "How can I be bitching if I haven't said anything..." Helix replied bluntly, staring at the cat male who had accompanied him for a while now. During their time together, Helix had not seen Leo like this, and it shocked him, very much. He didn't like it. It was the first thing Helix had said, and he regretted quite quickly. That was the time he should have shut up, but he had no reason to not talk when he was talking to Leo. Helix could almost consider them friends, after all, so why did he have to act all shyly? He watched in slight shock and slight amusement, of the sassy Leo, as he went to the throne and laid down in a fluffy looking throne. 
As Leo asked if they should start, Helix stood there as a question mark, tilting his head and staring at Leo. Starting what...?  God, these people where so hard to understand, why couldn't they just be a lot more straightforwards...? Maybe that was one of the reasons he liked Kayla, because she always said what she was thinking, but sometimes it was just annoying, when she talked nonstop. 
Helix himself had not noticed anything, but he just had the feeling something was wrong. He couldn't put words to it, so he just tried not to think about it. But he was still extra caution on the surroundings.

Leo watches as Helix didn't nothing under his parents words and gazes. He expected him to get angry... to challenge them, so when Helix only talked to him, it surprised him. It was a good surprise.. but a surprise none the less. Leo smiled cheekily and he looked at Felix, nodding his head as to say go on. Felix gave the cat boy a look of curious distaste before shifting on his throne slightly to look at his child. "You were sent away for your own protection." He started. "When you were born there were whisperings of the hunters, and you being the youngest of the siblings, we sent you to a land where nobody would suspect your existence as one of us. We bound your powers the best we could, but there was no true way to trap the shadows." He continued. "But me managed to trap your mothers side... the painful one. You were a lucky one.. one born without the curse of the Phoenix. You don't have a cycle, since you were born from the shadows. Of course you have Eldrin blood, but since you were born from me and not her, you get to live only in slight torment." He grinned. "You got the perks of being an Eldrin without the downside. And you get control over the shadows." He said, a bit pleased with how his birth worked out. "The hunters were eventually seeded out from this world, so we went to go look for you, only you weren't where we left you, which means something moved you." he continued. "So we sent out search parties only to have them never come back. But then this little prat found you in the middle of bloody nowhere. And here we are now." He finished, now leaning back lazily on his throne. "The world you were on had a time stream that was a lot faster than our own... so you aged quicker than we would have liked. If you were where we put you then you will still be small... and not remember ever being gone." He said tilting his head curiously. "You were an adorable baby. You had these nice chubby cheeks, and your eyes weren't as hateful. Eventually all of these arses would corrupt the little innocence you did have, but I didn't get to see your first kill. It must have been a lovely site." Felix knew that his son probably killed people. It was only natural that he did. They were all animals, so it was just part of their instinct. Felix looked at his silent son. "This is the part where you tell me you hate me for running your life, yada yada... You know... Teenager stuff." He said bluntly. "We need to get all the mushy crap out of the way before we can return you back to your normal body, and let your Eldrin side out." He said, getting a bit bored already. He got bored easily, and found himself needing to do things to keep from killing random citizens.

Helix looked over at Leo for a short while, unsure what was going to happen. But when his father started to speak, Helix stood still and listened. 'I sent you away to protect you' had to be the biggest cliche ever, he thought, but quickly continued to pay attention to the man speaking. There had been a time when he thought nothing would surprise him. He controlled shadows, what more could happen? But now he felt surprised, in a odd way. He had been born from shadows, sounds normal (Sarcasm) and he was from this weird world, which he would never even have imagined. 
He sighed lightly, not sure how to react to it all. His sight went over to Leo, and after a couple seconds he managed to look back at his father. Looking at Leo had made him feel more relaxed and, safe. It was odd, Helix had had all these weird feelings ever since meeting the boy. 
All his life, Helix had wanted to meet his parents and see what kind of persons they were. He had thought of many possibilities. Drunks, business people, poor people, almost everything besides persons-from-another-universe-with-super-crazy-powers-that-also-were-some-kind-of-leaders. 

The thought of him supposed to be a little kid didn't make him any happier, and he felt slight embarrassment when Felix, his father, talked about his chubby cheek and not hateful eyes. When Helix thought about it, he had never seen a picture from when he was a little kid, the oldest picture he had seen of himself was from when he was 7 and he went to the zoo with Kayla. 
It shocked Helix that his father was sad to miss his first kill. Normal fathers was pleased to see their children's first steps, but Felix was sad to miss Helix's first kill? Not that he was a normal father... Thinking about it, Helix remembered his first kill. It was when he was twelve, and someone had made Kayla cry. So after school Helix wanted to take revenge, just beating the guy up a little, but when they stood face to face, the guy had angered Helix, making him snap and release his powers. It was around then that he had started to use his powers, and learned how to control them properly. They had never realized it was Helix, and the next weeks was spent in silence and 'sorrow' for the 'poor' guy who fell unconscious and died in a dark alley of 'suffocating'. 

Once his father finished his excuse, Helix took a deep breath. He was ready to tell his father everything he felt, and he had spent quite a while on thinking about what to say.
"I don't hate you. I don't feel anything towards you, 'cause I don't know you. And I don't intend too either. All I have to say to you, father," Helix started, putting weight on the word father, as he spoke. "is that I am grateful. Thank you for sending me away and letting me meet the person who is my family now" He was not sure if he wanted to go back to his 'original' body and let his 'Eldrin' side out, so he looked over at Leo. It seemed like he had nothing to say against whatever Helix was going to do, so Helix decided to trust him. "I don't care if you sent me away to protect me or whatever. But, even if I stay here, I won't ever recognize you as family" Helix finished with a blunt voice, before sighting slightly. What the hell was he talking about? Staying there? Why hadn't he gone back yet? Helix was confused by his own decisions, and knew, deep inside, that there was only one answer. Leo. Leo was the reason he didn't protest, and Leo was the reason he was there. It was unlike Helix to do this for one person, and he himself felt confused by it.

Leo watched the males expression as his father talked, and he stayed silent for Helix to gather his thoughts and speak. Felix looked at his child with unreadable eyes, and at his sons words, he was slightly displeased, but it was expected. He would honor his sons wishes, even if he didn't want to. It would be one thing if he was still a child, but he is grown, so he was allowed to make his own decisions. "Very well." He said, the words leaving his mouth unwillingly. "Once Wyatt is taken care of you may go back to whatever world you wish." Felix spoke, voice clearly not pleased. He may have been king of shadows, but he still had a soft spot for his own. "We all consider you family, even if you do not, and you will have a place here for you and your friend if you ever happen to need it." He said monotonously, his face more void of emotions than Daniels and Helix's combined. So that's where they got that from. Felix stood up from his throne and he brushed off the front of his shirt, letting it smooth out under his fingers. He walked towards his son with a grim look on his face, wanting to do this, but not wanting to at the same time. He grabbed his sons wrist and brought it to his mouth and bit hard, his teeth sinking into his flesh. And he grabbed his other wrist and used his nails and made three holes. Shadows sprung from the ground and filled the holes, making three dots in a triangle formation on his wrist, signifying his mothers side of the family. And the other where he bit his son also filled with shadows, but this time, they were Felix's personal shadows. The wound healed and left behind an oval that was eye shaped, and inside was a strange symbol. It was Felix's crest. "My gift to you..." He said. "Is my shadows, and all that exist in all the worlds. This is a family gift you can not decline. It is yours by right." Felix spoke as he looked down at his child. This would give him complete control over his shadows. It would allow him to keep them from haunting him, and he could manipulate other shadows that weren't his own. He would be able to see peoples greatest fears, including his fathers. "Take it, and use it to protect your family with it." He finished and he leaned down and placed a kiss on his child's forehead like he use to do when he was just merely a child. He turned and he walked away, moving behind his throne and sinking into the darkness that filled his area of the Guardian's realm.

With this gift Helix would be able to protect what was dear to him. He would be able to see peoples deepest desires and fears. Everyone's, including his fathers and Leo's and his blood related family. Leo's was just blackness, blackness that seemed to continue on forever, blackness and pain. Daniel's was of losing Allie, the only person that kept him here, burning in the flames. Felix's was a bit more gruesome. It had Helix, Jezebel, Daniel, and his other Eldrin children lined up. They were pressed to the ground by hunters boots on their backs. They had grips on the base of their wings and they were slowly tearing them off, letting the Eldrin children feel the pain to their deepest. There was the echoing screams of his wife, who was the strongest out of all of them, and even the pain seemed to tear her apart. Damian's already half torn wing came off first, leaving his back with a sickening crunch, and turning to ash in the males hands. Damian's discolored eyes glowed brightly, the red taking over his purple eye, and then they turned white. Slowly they all had their wings ripped from their body, everyone laying in their own ashes. Balthazar and Reagan had passed out long ago from the pain. Darren was more angry than in pain, for his daughters screams were the loudest of them all. Daniel was the only one who didn't scream. He didn't move or even flinch. His eyes were now completely empty, any emotion that he once held completely drained from his body. Helix looked young in the vision, since his fear was when Helix was only a child. The boy looked like Helix but with a rounder face and slightly shorter hair. The boy had tears streaming down his face, and shadows were gripping the ground with ferocity, for his shadows felt the same pain as Helix since his own were soul bound. These were the thoughts that went through Helix's fathers head when he sent him away, and they were the thoughts in his head when giving him the power to read them. He wanted Helix to be able to protect himself from any of the possible hunters. With this he could control their shadows, and make it so he could fight. He had failed Helix as a father, so it was the least he could do.

Jezebel looked at the way her husband walked with wide eyes, shocked that he did that. Daniel even had a bit of surprise in his eyes from his fathers actions. He knew his father was strange, but that was a bit extreme... Even for him. His brain racked for a reason as to why he would do that, and when it hit him he was dumbfounded. Leo himself had known for a while now, and this action made sense to him, It was the only way to secure things. Jezebel looked at Helix with a questioning expression, trying to decipher something. She let out a sigh. "Daniel, find him a tree, and then go to the war village and have them send a search party to look for clues of Wyatt. I want this matter resolved as fast as possible." She demanded, that scary maternal tone in her voice once more. Daniel nodded and watched his mother follow his father into the shadows. Leo then let out a groan. "Oh the dramatics!" He said, exasperated. He stood up and stretched his little body and he walked back over to the two. "You guys ready to blow this popsicle stand?" He asked, a hand on his hip and a spunky eyebrow raised.

For some reason, it was as if Helix, once more, was forced to just remain there quietly and without talking. It was as if he wasn’t allowed. Taking a deep breath, Helix tried his best to read his father, but it was impossible. Even colder and emotionless than Helix himself, Felix had an expressionless face, only showing small hints of being displeased.
The name Wyatt gave Helix a disgusted feeling. It was still that guy… Stopping him from returning to his old life. He sighed slightly, and nodded to his father. Before he could go back to where he came from, he had to get rid of the treats. However, he wasn’t sure if he really wanted to go back. And it was obvious that his father didn't want him to go, his voice had become displeased after hearing Helix's reply. Looking at the floor, not sure how to react after hearing Felix say that 'they all' considered him family. Who were 'we'? How many sibling did he have? Helix thought, and tried to think back. He had already met one of his siblings, he knew, and he had met his mother. But who else was in his so called family?
Ever since Helix had first seen his father, upon entering the odd place they were in, he had found him unpredictable and slightly odd. Felix seemed like cold and dark hearted person, just like Helix himself, but it was impossible to tell what he would do next. And when the man was walking towards his son, Helix's mind started to spin. Would his father hit him? Or hug him? Or just stand there? What is he going to do? Helix imagined many different scenarios, but what really happened, was not one of them. His teeth was clenched together when his father’s own teeth tore into his wrist, and his nails pierced through the other one. It wasn't first time he had been bit, Kayla used biting as her secret weapon to get what she wanted, but this was far worse. Shadows poured into the holes from the nails and the teeth, when his father was done. The three holes on the wrist his father had dug his nails into, formed a triangle, some sort of mark. Helix stood still, unable to move or say something, only managing to stare at his wrists. Shortly, the wounds where he had been bit healed, and some sort of symbol, looking like an oval shaped eye, appeared. When Felix spoke, Helix took a small step back, finally being able to react. Helix felt something had changed. It was easy to feel. They were no longer moving restlessly, trying to take control, because now they were completely under his control. His shadows was now completely his.
A gift he could not decline… Unsure of what to think, Helix just stared at his wrists. When he looked up, he noticed the first change. He wasn’t sure how he knew, but he could see the fears of the people around him, and it troubled him. His father's horrible vision of his family's death made Helix uneasy; it made him feel an unfamiliar feeling of loss, even if he didn’t know his family. But what he had seen when he looked at Leo bothered him more. Never-ending darkness and pain. It didn't make sense, and it made Helix much more attracted to the mysterious boy. Who was he really? What was he thinking? Helix asked himself, casting a look at him. There was something about the darkness he saw that bothered him. Did Leo fear eternal darkness, and not being able to see? Leo had always seemed rather open and easy to understand, but first now, Helix understood that he wasn’t. Feeling something strange, Helix looked up at his father and finally realized what had happened. Felix had placed a kiss on Helix’s forehead, which made an odd and unfamiliar feeling go through his body, and he watched his father’s back as he walked away and into the shadows.
As much at it bothered Helix, he managed to focus on his mother as she spoke. Even if her attention was turned to Daniel, Helix felt his hearts beat a notch faster when the name Wyatt was mentioned once again. In the silence, Helix heard his mother’s steps grow weaker and weaker until she was gone.
Without saying anything, after finally getting back to his senses and putting on an emotionless expression, Helix looked at Leo. Standing still, Helix watched Leo stretch and walk towards Helix and Daniel, with his normal attitude. Not saying anything, for various reasons, Helix put on an annoyed expression to show how much he wanted to leave the place, hoping Leo would understand.
