Welcome to Lost Children, a RP forum dedicated to both one on one and group role plays. We are a semi-literate to literate role play group, which means we strive for creativity and interesting interactions between characters. We are also a civil guild, which means we are all friendly with each other out of character. If you have a problem with another member, please PM a member of staff about it. Your opinion matters and we want this to be a fun environment for everyone.
Note: As of June 25, 2014, all who sign up and use this site are agreeing and bound to the ToS of both Proboards and The Lost Children. By using this site, you are agreeing to the content below, and agreeing to adhere to all policies outlines below.
General Rules
Note: As of June 25, 2014, all who sign up and use this site are agreeing and bound to the ToS of both Proboards and The Lost Children. By using this site, you are agreeing to the content below, and agreeing to adhere to all policies outlines below.
General Rules
one; There will be no bullying, belittling, attacking, or otherwise making fun of another member. If staff is informed, or sees this happening, you will be banned on the spot.
two; All content on the site should be kept at Pg-13, as stated in the Proboard's ToS, as well as TLC's ToS.
three; There is a 3-strike warning system in place. You get 3 strikes, before immediate termination occurs. One (1) strike is 25%. Two (2) strikes is 50%. Three (3) strikes is 75%. On the fourth (4) warning, which is 100%, your account will be immediately banned, and your IP address banned as well. Please bear in mind that any of these three strike system can be foregone, if the situation is appropriate. The Admin has full rights to ban and terminate any member that breaks any ToS.
four; Each thread has a different board that it should be placed under. Place each thread in their correct board, or a Mod will move it to the correct board. If you're not sure, please ask someone. If you continue to place threads in the wrong board, you will receive a warning.
five; The shout box is used for friendly chatting and contacting a Mod quickly when they're online. Do not spam this tool. It is simply that: a tool. Do not plan your RP inside of shoutbox. Do so in a PM or a thread. You can comment on a RP in shoutbox, but do not plan it in there. If we see excessive spamming, you will receive a warning. Do not set roleplays up on the shout box.
six; If you are going to report a member, please send a PM with the title "Report [member's name here] " followed by the user's name. In the body of your message, please include some proof of the incident. This will help us in better assessing the situation.
seven; Please allow staff to handle site problems. If you see someone breaking the rules, send a PM to a staff member instead of trying to handle it yourself.
eight; Any suggestions should be made on the Suggestion thread, and not given to an individual staff member. As a team, we strive to work for all suggestions, but in order to do so, we need to all be able to hear suggestions from you, not just a singled out staff member. Any suggestion made to an individual staff member will not be addressed by the team.
nine; These rules are a guidelines and can change at any time. You may or may not be made aware should these rules change, but Mods and Admin reserve the right to make changes as needed. If the Terms of Service change, please visit once in awhile to note said changes. Not every change will be announced.
Role-Play Based Rules
one; Language: Freedom of speech. So cursing is allowed, talking about whatever subject. Just please be respectful when you do it. We're all your friends here. Don't try to make someone uncomfortable.
Sexual Content: In accordance with the proboards terms of service, please keep things PG-13. If you feel that things might get a little bit uncomfortable for any younger ones, please put [M] or some sort of warning in the thread title, but no sexual content should be explicitly detailed. There will be no sexual conduct on our site, and no sexual conduct will be tolerated.
Violence: Fight scenes are awesome. But same thing goes for a violent thread. If you want to step up the violence to an all out blood bath of raining guts and describe it in /great/ detail, you MUST put a (V) in front of the title of your role play.
two; You can set a default posting template if you like. To do this, you have to edit your profile. Under your Settings tab, there should be a place to put some BBCode in. If you can't see this, turn your default editor to the BBCode editor and the text area should pop up. Paste the code in there and save your profile.
three; If you have not been active for one month, any thread you are in will be moved into the archives. Should you sign in with your account, you will be restored to your former glory.
four; All roleplays will be in "third person past tense" unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties. Repeated offenses must be taken up with staff and a warning will be issued.
five; Use spellcheck for posts. It’s not hard. Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari automatically check spelling as you type, as does Microsoft Word. If you have none of them, I suggest you find SOME way to correct your errors. Pull out a dictionary if you must, but please. Spell check.
six; All group roleplays are recommended to have a recruitment thread made. All groups must have three active participants in order to remain in the group roleplay section. The thread owner has two weeks after creating a group roleplay to have at least three participants, or the roleplay will be archived.
seven; Artist's Corner/Other Artistic expression: any content on this site must be consistently PG-13, as stated in Proboard's ToS. With any video, song, writing piece, or picture/artwork, you must be sure to keep this in mind. If there is a question as to it being appropriate or not, it probably should not be placed. Nudity, sexual conduct, pornographic items in nature, or anything that can be deemed explicit or have any double entendres, should not be placed on the site. This protects both yourselves as users, us as staff, and Proboards as a community.
eight; Sex Scenes: In a roleplay, many romances occur. While having sex is acceptable, no pieces of art or writing should go into explicit detail. We should not be able to imagine what is happening while it is going on. If there is a question as to what is "PG-13" and appropriate for Proboards, please take it up with any staff member, and they will be able to better assist you in understanding how Proboard's PG-13 system works.
